Destinations Festival is a one off event hosted by Inspiring Choices in collaboration with Askham Bryan University Centre, CU Scarborough, University of York and York St John University.
The event will take place on Wednesday 9th April at York St John University. The event is aimed at young people in Year 9 and above from any background who have an interest in attending University and would like to know more. This will be the highlight of the Easter break, with lots of fun activities happening all over campus! There will be professionals from a variety of careers sharing their advice at our drop-in sessions, talks on student life and how to apply to University, guidance and support for certain groups including students eligible for DSA (disabled students' allowance), and taster sessions where you could be solving a mystery in the crime scene house! Whatever you are wanting to find out more on, there is something for everyone.
What to expect on the day
The day will start at 10:00 and run until 15:00. There will be a variety of activities across campus with the main hub of the day situated in the Creative Centre.

Registration
If you would like to attend Destinations Festival, we politely ask you to fill in an online registration form. This will only take a couple of minutes to fill out and helps us to identify how many people to expect on the day!
Further Information
Food
Lunch will be provided on the day from the canteen at York St John University, with drinks and snacks available throughout the day.
Parking
Paid parking is available opposite the University at Union Terrace Car Park (YO31 7ES). Unfortunately, there is no parking available on campus, but the campus is only a short walk from York City Centre.
Public Transport
York train station is a 17 minute walk away through the centre of York. There are also bus routes throughout the city with a stop right next to the University on Clarence Street which serves routes 1, 1A, 5, 5A, 6 & 40. Park & Ride is also available if travelling into York.
Community Organisation

Askham Bryan College
There is an opportunity for a group of young people aged 16+ to visit Askham Bryan College to take part in a taster session and take a tour of the Wildlife Park! Please note, there are limited spaces available which will be distributed on a first come, first serve basis. Transport to the venue will be available from the York St John University drop off point opposite Porter's Lodge. This will be a 20 minute journey in a minibus which will then bring you back to York St John, so you won't miss out on the activities taking place on campus.
